Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife Olena Zelenska had a busy weekend filled with meetings involving various European royal figures.
Their engagements commenced with a warm reception from King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia at Stenhammar Palace in Flen, located in the southwest of Stockholm. Remarkably, on the same day, an unfortunate missile attack took place in Chernihiv, Ukraine, resulting in casualties.
Notably, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia took a personal interest in funding the restoration of Zmiivka village's infrastructure, formerly known as Gammalsvenskby, an ancient Swedish settlement.
Continuing their journey, the President and First Lady proceeded to Denmark, where they were welcomed at Skrydstrup Airbase in Vojens by Denmark's Crown Princess Mary, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, and Defence Minister. Crown Princess Mary showcased her fashion sensibility with brown trousers and a white blouse, stylishly cinched at the waist with a belt, accompanied by tan heels. Ukrainian First Lady Olena Zelenska opted for a sophisticated cream trouser suit, while President Zelensky chose a black shirt paired with green trousers.
A significant event during the visit was the participation of HRH Crown Princess Mary and Ukraine's First Lady Olena Selenska in a Danish-Ukrainian evening service held at Haderslev Cathedral. Coinciding with President Zelensky's trip to Denmark, the Danish Prime Minister concurrently announced the decision to supply F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine.
