King Abdullah II and Queen Rania of Jordan are visiting the Vatican City for a private audience with Pope Francis. The Royal couple left the country on Wednesday evening and Crown Prince Al Hussein was sworn in as Regent.

Vatican protocol dictates that women should wear long sleeves, formal black clothing and a veil during private audiences with the pope. Queen Rania also carried a small white box with her as she headed to the Apostolic Palace.

After the meeting with Pope, The King headed for the UK where he met with King Charles III on Thursday afternoon and British Prime Minsiter Rishi Sunak.
