The Wednesday began with Queen Letizia of Spain visiting The Teaching Centre of the Red Cross in Madrid to mark the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day. The day highlights the importance of its staff and volunteers, who save lives and they serve vulnerable communities around the world.

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is the world’s largest voluntary humanitarian organization for 156 years. It is present in 192 countries and is made up of more than 12 million active volunteers. In Spain, there are more than 250,000 volunteers from the Spanish Red Cross, of which more than 68,000 have made possible the Red Cross RESPONDE Plan, with more than 36,000 newly incorporated.
For the day, Queen Letizia of Spain was looking gorgeous in a Zara floral printed green midi dress that she first wore in September 2017. teamed up the dress with her Boss Mayfair block heel pumps, Yanes flower blossom stud earrings and her Karen Hallam ring.

Then we saw another Zara style when Kensington Palace released pictures and an interview details to mark the completion of The Duchess of Cambridge's patronage ‘Nursing Now’, a three-year global campaign to raise the status and profile of nursing by interviewing midwife Harriet Nayiga for Nursing Times from Uganda. The day also marked International Midwife Day.
The interview, which took place in March this year, is published in the ‘Nursing Times’ magazine with a cover chosen by The Duchess of Cambridge, that celebrates the work of Nursing Now. Harriet Nayiga, who has seven years of experience, is the founder and director of Midwife-led Community Transformation(MILCOT), a charity bridging the gap between midwives and communities in Uganda by focusing on adolescent sexual health. The charity has participated in Nursing Now’s Nightingale
Challenge.
Harriet spoke to The Duchess in March about her work both as a Nurse Midwife and as the Founder of MILCOT (Midwife-led Community Transformation), which is a community organisation providing advice and support for vulnerable women and girls in Nansana, Uganda. You can read the full interview here.
For the interview, The Duchess of Cambridge was wearing a new Cobalt blue Zara tailored blazer. With a black top and black trouser, her Orelia London hoops.
Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II held two Audiences via video link from Windsor Castle. Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti presented his credentials as Apostolic Nuncio (an ecclesiastical diplomat) from the Holy See to the Court of St. James's. Mr. Euvrard Saint Amand, Ambassador from the Republic of Haiti also presented his Letters of Credence at Buckingham Palace.

The Belgian Queen Mathilde, a book lover, had a virtual meeting with Mrs. Marie Noble, Commissioner General, and Mr. Tanguy Roosen, president of the Brussels book fair, La Foire du Livre de Bruxelles. They talk about the impact of the pandemic on the literary world and on the fair, which will take place online this year from 6 to 16 May.

The Princess, who has been Patron of The Royal College of Midwives for nearly 20 years, spoke to those who have been working in front line maternity services throughout the pandemic.
Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel had a busy day too. The Royal couple attended virtual meetings with representatives of Swedish municipalities - Oxelösunds, Norrtälje, Mönsterås, and Ekerö to learn about how they are handling the pandemic.
Next, The Crown Princess of Mary was in the highlight when she delivered the opening speech at the virtual Womenomics Nordic Business Conference. Focusing on the gender equality, The Princess said,
“The ambition is to highlight the female impact on the global economy, the impact of women as consumers, leaders, and innovators. […] This past year stresses, even more, the importance of gathering the business community to discuss the value of implementing diversity, inclusion, and equity.”
The day ended with The Crown Princess of Norway, Mette-Marit, released a video message to thank the midwives for their work, marking International Day of the Midwife. In the video reflecting on the hard work and importance of Midwives, The Crown Pricness said, "Midwives have one of the most important jobs in the world. You help at the beginning of life and ensure security and professionalism in one of the most vulnerable life situations for both mother and child. Everything is at stake."
