British Royal Family ready for a unique Commonwealth Day Celebrations
The Royal Family

Sunday 07th March is marking the annual Commonwealth Day that falls on March 08. This year the day will be marked in a different way. Instead of the traditional Westminster Abbey service, this year Her Majesty The Queen will appear on a television special featuring The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and The Countess of Wessex.

A special BBC program under the name of ‘A Celebration For Commonwealth Day’ will broadcast on Sunday on BBC One at 5PM. Like every year, The Queen will pay tribute to the way in which communities across the family of nations have come together in response to the pandemic.

This year’s reflection will be given by the two-time  Commonwealth Games heptathlon champion Dennis Lewis. The Dean of Westminster Dr Hoyle will led the prayer. The Commonwealth is a group of 54 nations that represents a vast community having a population of 2.4 Billion. The year 2021 is being celebrated among the 54 nations under the theme of ‘Delivering a Common Future: Connecting, Innovating, Transforming’.

For the day, Prince Charles of Wales has recorded a message addressing the universal devastation caused by coronavirus pandemic. Prince Charles’ message will celebrate the critical work being carried out by nations across the Commonwealth to combat climate change and protect its unique landscapes, marine environments and bio-diversities.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Catherine, have spoken to the medical, charity and voluntary staff from across the commonwealth to hear more about the work they have been carrying out to care for those within their communities.
