Another European Princess Heading to Wales for High School

Princess Alexia of Netherlands is following her father's footsteps and going to United World College of the Atlantic in Wales for high school. Alexia Juliana Marcela Laurentien, Princess of the Netherlands, Princess of Orange-Nassau was born in The Hague on 26 June 2005 as the second child of King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima.

Announcing the plan, The Palace announced, 

"After the summer, Her Royal Highness Princess Alexia of the Netherlands will continue her high school days at the United World College of the Atlantic (UWC Atlantic College) in Llantwit Major in Wales. She will go there for her International Baccalaureate. Princess Alexia is now in the fourth year of the Christelijk Gymnasium Sorghvliet in The Hague".


Palace has requiested the media to respect the privacy. The period of the princesses' school days is private. At the express request of the parents, an appeal is made to the media to continue to respect the privacy of their daughters.

Last month, Spanish Palace announced that Princess of Asturias, Leonor, will continue her secondary education at United World Colleges (UWC) educational institution at the UWC Atlantic College in Wales. Princess will attend the college for two sessions 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 for International Baccalaureate. She will be living at the college accommodation during the tenure of the study.
